Japan Day 1: Getting there

On the plane, I played solitaire on the screen for 8 hours straight.

We got off the plane and took the train to Tokyo station. We started downloading Didi and Japantaxi to go back and check into the Airbnb. Ubers were only Uber black and they were kind of expensive. We started walking back to the Airbnb. They said it would take like 40 minutes. It was low stress cuz it was a lockbox type of check in. Also we had a suitcase that rolled so it was fine. We got part way and Masa wanted to Uber since there was less surge pricing. It was a legit Uber black! It was a nice black Mercedes with LED light strips inside. The Uber driver was so nice and professional. The streets were empty, and a little like Beijing in that there were railings along all of the big streets.

Then we got off at the Airbnb. It looked so trash from the outside because there were dozens of trash cans in the main hallway. We got in and it was a cozy little place. We put down our stuff and went out for a bite to eat in the alleyways that were paved with brick in the neighborhood nearby. We chose a place that had a bunch of people. I got udon and it tasted weird cuz of this weird goop on top. The curry udon tasted good though. We also got two drinks and some karaage chicken which was SO GOOD. Then we bought some supplies at the convenience store. The convenience stores here are truly convenient, nothing like the 7-11s in USA.
